What this section covers

A pancake, a filled crêpe, a spring roll and a snack roll look like different products but are made by one technology: batter is poured onto a heated surface, sets into a thin sheet, and the sheet is filled and then rolled or folded. The difference lies in what that heated surface is.

A tilting plate gives a single round pancake of the required diameter — from 17.5 to 40 cm. A rotating disc of Ø2 or Ø3 metres gives the same round products but several rows at a time, so the output is counted in thousands of pieces an hour. A baking cylinder delivers a continuous strip of dough which is then cut — and that is how elongated products come about: spring rolls, samsa, snack crêpes with jam.

The fourth group is auxiliary equipment. Batter preparation and feeding, a folding and rolling conveyor and an automatic system for cleaning carbon off the discs. These units are supplied separately or as part of a complete line.

What do you need

If you know the task but not the name of the machine, start here.

Round pancakes and crêpes piece by piece

Tilting plates, product Ø17.5–40 cm: the 1C series for one side, the 2C series for both.

Round pancakes by the thousand

Baking discs: the 2M line up to 3,410 pcs/h, the 3M line about 11,842 pcs/h.

Filled pancakes folded into an envelope

A cylinder line with five folds: 4,800 pcs/h.

Snack rolls with jam or chocolate

Thin crêpes rolled into a tube: the snack line, about 3,600 pcs/h.

Spring rolls and egg rolls

Automatically — 1,500–3,000 pcs/h; shaped by operators — the semi-automatic samsa and spring roll line.

Prepare and feed the batter

Mixing, holding and automatic feeding to one or two lines: the BALPE batter system.

Fold or roll the pancakes

A two-row, three-section folding conveyor made in Ukraine.

Clean carbon off the discs

Brush cleaning with a vacuum unit: the cleaning system for Ø2 and Ø3 m discs.

Equipment groups

The groups differ by baking element — and that decides both the shape of the product and the output of the line.

Comparison of the items in this section

The items solve different tasks, so comparing them for "which is better" makes no sense. This table answers a different question — which of them is yours:

How we select the equipment

  1. The taskYou describe the product, the volume per shift and the space in the workshop. If the product does not exist yet, we discuss what it should be.
  2. CalculationAn engineer works out the output, chooses the units and the interchangeable tooling and checks the dimensions against the manufacturer's drawings.
  3. The offerYou receive the composition of the set, the specifications, the lead time and the price. If needed, several options for different budgets.
  4. ImplementationSupply, installation, commissioning on your own product, staff training — and service afterwards.

Why customers buy from us

The factories build the machines. We are responsible for making the equipment work on your product in your workshop — and for keeping it working. That is eight steps, and all of them are ours:

  1. Selection for your product
  2. Delivery
  3. Installation
  4. Commissioning
  5. Staff training
  6. Warranty
  7. Service
  8. Spare parts

Frequently asked questions

How do tilting plates differ from a baking disc?

A plate bakes one product per cycle and gives an exact diameter — from 17.5 to 40 cm. A disc rotates continuously and bakes several rows at a time, so the count runs into thousands of pieces an hour. Plates are chosen for a discrete product and a wide range of diameters, a disc for the serial output of one format.

What does a baking cylinder give that discs do not?

A cylinder delivers not separate pancakes but a continuous strip of dough. It is cut into rectangles, filled and rolled up — and that is how elongated products come about: spring rolls, samsa, snack rolls. A round pancake cannot be made on a cylinder, just as a spring roll cannot be made on a disc.

An automatic line or a semi-automatic one?

A semi-automatic bakes the sheet and the operators shape the products by hand. That costs less to start with, gives more freedom in the range and is justified at smaller volumes. An automatic line shapes the product itself — it is needed when the product is one and there has to be a lot of it, and manual work becomes the bottleneck.

Can different products be made on one line?

Within its own group, yes. On tilting plates the diameter changes by setting, on discs by setting the depositors, on a cylinder by the cutting length and the type of folding. Moving from a round pancake to a spring roll on the same equipment will not work: those are different baking elements.

Is a separate batter preparation system necessary?

Not necessarily, but it removes manual topping up from the process. The BALPE system mixes the batter, holds it with stirring and feeds it to the disc or cylinder automatically — one system can feed two lines.

Why a separate disc cleaning system?

Carbon on the baking disc changes the heat transfer and the pancakes start to burn unevenly. Cleaning a Ø3 metre disc by hand means a stoppage and dirty work. A brush system with a vacuum unit removes the carbon without contaminating the workshop.

Not sure where to start?

Describe the task and our engineer will propose a solution and prepare a quotation. We need to know:

  • which product you make — pancake, filled crêpe, spring roll, snack roll;
  • the diameter or size of the product;
  • how many pieces per hour;
  • whether filling and folding are needed or only baking.

If you do not have all the answers yet, send what you have. We will work out the rest in conversation.
