What bulk storage gives you

A bag of flour is not only flour. It is the handler who carries it, the trolley, the storage space for pallets, the packaging waste, the dust in the workshop and dosing by eye: nobody actually weighs what is in the bag. From a few tonnes a day upwards all of that becomes a standing cost.

A bulk system replaces that chain with a single circuit. Flour is taken from the tanker straight into the silo, held there, conveyed pneumatically across the workshop, sifted and cleaned of metal on the way, and weighed immediately before discharge into the mixer. In that chain nobody picks up flour by hand at any point.

AGRIFLEX engineers the system for one specific workshop: the type and number of silos, the conveying method — pressure or vacuum — the pipe diameters, the diverter valves and the number of consumption points. Trevira® fabric silos are carried inside a working plant with no assembly openings, so the system can go in without stopping production.

What do you need

If you know the task but not the name of the machine, start here.

Get rid of bags in the workshop

Intake from a tanker straight into the silo: loading pipes and pneumatic conveying. For flour that arrives in bags, and as a reserve way of loading — a bag tipper.

Put a silo inside the workshop

Fabric silos need no assembly openings: three types of silo with size tables.

Check whether there is room

Distances are settled with a tape measure, not a catalogue: 40–50 m to the silo, 80–90 m to the mixer.

Stop the silo outlet blocking

Flour cakes and stops reaching the line — vibrating bottoms FV400 — FV2500.

Sift without a separate operation

In-line sifters sit in the line and work while the flour is fed to the mixer.

Dose accurately by weight

Weighing dosers TS 50 — TS 300 with the SA01 and LG39 instruments: stock and batch both become numbers.

What the system is made of

The system is assembled from subsystems. Not all of them are needed at once: many start with a silo and pneumatic conveying and add weighing later.

Items in this section

The section is represented by one supplier: AGRIFLEX engineers and builds every subsystem, so the system is assembled from components of a single manufacturer. The first card is the system as a whole; the other six are the units it is built from.

How we select the equipment

  1. The taskYou describe the product, the volume per shift and the space in the workshop. If the product does not exist yet, we discuss what it should be.
  2. CalculationAn engineer works out the output, chooses the units and the interchangeable tooling and checks the dimensions against the manufacturer's drawings.
  3. The offerYou receive the composition of the set, the specifications, the lead time and the price. If needed, several options for different budgets.
  4. ImplementationSupply, installation, commissioning on your own product, staff training — and service afterwards.

Why customers buy from us

The factories build the machines. We are responsible for making the equipment work on your product in your workshop — and for keeping it working. That is eight steps, and all of them are ours:

  1. Selection for your product
  2. Delivery
  3. Installation
  4. Commissioning
  5. Staff training
  6. Warranty
  7. Service
  8. Spare parts

Selection for your product

We calculate the configuration for your product, volume and premises.

Delivery and installation

Transport, positioning in the production room, setting up.

Commissioning

Bringing the equipment up to regime on your own product.

Staff training

We train operators and technologists, including tooling changes.

Spare parts and tooling

Original components, interchangeable units, dies and matrices.

Warranty and service

Warranty and post-warranty service across Ukraine.

Frequently asked questions

From what volume does bulk storage make sense?

What should be counted is not the tonnes but the labour: how many man-hours a day go into moving bags, how much space their store occupies and how much flour is lost to spillage and bag residue. The system is usually discussed from a few tonnes a day, but the payback point is calculated for one specific plant.

A fabric silo or a steel one?

Trevira® fabric silos go inside the building: they are light, are carried in with no assembly openings and the fabric lasts more than 15 years. Steel and fibreglass silos go outside, where resistance to weather is needed. ESA stainless steel panel silos are used when food-grade requirements apply to the inner surface.

Pressure or vacuum?

The choice depends on the distance and the required throughput. Pressure conveying with a centrifugal compressor works on long lines and large volumes; vacuum is more convenient on short lines and when drawing from several points. In the projects delivered, lines run at 1000, 1600, 2000 and 2700 kg/h over distances from 20 to 95 m.

Can the same system carry sugar?

Yes, the system is designed not only for flour but for sugar and other bulk ingredients. But a separate product usually calls for a separate silo and a separate line — mixing residues in the pipe is not acceptable.

What has to be prepared on site?

Space for the silos allowing for their height, an approach for the flour tanker, electrical and compressed air connections, and a foundation or floor reinforcement for outdoor silos. The compressor equipment is built for ATEX zone 22. We give the exact requirements in a technical brief before engineering.

Where to start if the whole system is out of reach at once?

Most plants start at the end where the manual labour is. If people are carrying bags, they put in a silo and pneumatic conveying and add the weighing later. If the dough drifts from shift to shift, they start with weight dosing on the mixer they already have. The system grows unit by unit, and none of those units has to be thrown away later.

How long does installation take?

The lead time depends on the number of silos and the length of the lines, so an honest answer only comes after a survey. What can be said in advance: fabric silos inside the workshop are installed without building work, so production does not have to stop.

Not sure where to start?

Describe the task and our engineer will propose a solution and prepare a quotation. We need to know:

  • how much flour you use per day;
  • how many dough mixers have to be fed;
  • where the silos can stand — inside or outside;
  • the distance from the intake point to the workshop.

If you do not have all the answers yet, send what you have. We will work out the rest in conversation.
