The equipment in brief
This is the part of the project settled with a tape measure on site rather than from a catalogue. Where the loading pipes stand and how far they are from the silos decides whether a flour tanker can discharge at all — and this is usually where it turns out that the chosen place for the store will not do.

Key advantages
The limits show before the project, not after
Forty to fifty metres and four bends are the figures that decide whether the chosen place for the store will do.
The tanker discharges by itself
The loading pipes are brought out to the outer face of the wall — the vehicle never has to come inside.
The pipes stay locked
The terminals sit in a box with doors and a lock: nobody outside gets to the system.
The conveying method is calculated, not guessed
Pressure or vacuum, pipe diameter and compressor output all follow the distance and the quantity of flour needed.
Ninety metres to the mixer
The flour store does not have to adjoin the workshop — it can go where there is room.
Every silo is labelled
The terminals are numbered by silo, so the tanker driver cannot mix up a grade.
Who this equipment is for
These limits shape the project if you are:
- planning a new bulk storage installation
- choosing where the silos go in an existing workshop
- moving the flour store into a separate building
- switching from bags to tankers
- adding a second point of use
- rebuilding an existing pneumatic line
How it works
- The tanker arrivesIts hose is connected to the loading pipes on the outer wall of the store.
- Flour goes to the siloDriven by the tanker compressor through a stainless steel run — up to 40–50 m and no more than four bends.
- StorageThe silo with its SA01 weighing device shows the stock.
- Feeding the workshopBy pressure or vacuum through the flour pipeline — up to 80–90 m to the point of use.
- Receiving hopperBy the mixer, with an LG39 for entering the quantity per batch.
Flour intake from a tanker
Because the flour is taken in from a tanker, the distance from the silo loading pipes to the silo itself matters a great deal. That distance is limited: 40–50 metres at most, depending on the output of the tanker’s compressor and on the number of bends in the stainless steel pipe run itself (usually no more than four bends).
The loading pipes are installed on the outer side of the wall of the flour store in which the silos stand — in a box with doors and a lock.
Feeding flour from the storage silos
This is done by pressure or by vacuum — depending on the distance — using a dedicated compressor, through a stainless steel flour pipeline. The compressor output, the conveying method and the pipe diameter are calculated for the particular distance, the quantity of flour required and the position of the sifter.
The maximum distance from the flour store to the point (or points) of use is 80–90 metres. The flour is delivered into a receiving hopper fitted with an LG39 weighing device with a display and a control panel, positioned right beside the dough mixer.
Scope of supply
- mechanical sensor for detecting product levels during feeding;
- Prima series silo;
- rotary valve group for dosing the incoming product;
- blower connected to the compressor;
- audible and visual signalling of the silo sensors;
- flour delivery pipeline.
This is the typical configuration of a line working under pressure.

Not sure which configuration you need?
To calculate the run we need measurements:
- the distance from where the tanker stands to the silos;
- the number of bends in the loading run;
- the distance from the store to each dough mixer;
- the height of the rooms the pipeline passes through.
Our engineer will propose the right configuration and prepare a quotation.
